Press Release: OpenGrid, Inc.
May 15, 2001
SAN JOSE, CA -- OpenGrid, Inc., the leading provider of mobile solutions to the travel and conference industries,
announces an offer to launch a wireless presence for hotel brands. While working with travel industry leaders,
OpenGrid market study shows that most hotels have yet to expand their brands to wireless. When a customer tries
accessing a hotel web site that has not been enabled for wireless access, the typical result is a ``Content-Type
Error''. OpenGrid is offering to develop and host one wireless page for each hotel brand that will welcome customers
and direct them to visit the hotel's web-based url. This will eliminate the unfavorable user experience.
OpenGrid will provide this service free to any hotel that visits OpenGrid at the HEDNA or HITEC trade shows or
contacts OpenGrid directly at 408-792-1647 or www.opengrid.com/freeoffer
during May or June 2001. The next logical step in having a true wireless presence with booking capability is to
implement a complete wireless reservation and customer relationship management (CRM) solution. OpenGrid's Fastbook
enables hotels to offer wireless reservation capabilities to customers via wireless devices. During this time OpenGrid
offers a 15% discount for any hotel that signs up for FastBook.
