HUNTERSVILLE, NC -- The Huntersville Candlewood Suites is now open, the third Candlewood Suites in the Charlotte,
N.C., area and the seventh in the state. It is the only hotel within about 30 miles that focuses on extended stay
business travelers.
The newly constructed hotel, at 16530 Northcross Drive, Huntersville, N.C., is located off Interstate 77 near the
intersection of state Highway 73. It is about 20 miles from Charlotte/Douglas International Airport in Charlotte.
Business travelers will appreciate its proximity to the Huntersville Business Park, about three miles away, and
other corporate business parks. Davidson College is also nearby.
For leisure travelers, the hotel is near the Duke Power Energy Explorium, Lake Norman, Lowes Motor Speedway, and
the historic Latta Place Plantation. Birkdale Golf Course is just a block away. Restaurants are also within walking
or a short driving distance.
Introductory rates for the new hotel start at $69, depending on type of suite and length of stay.
Candlewood Suites offers larger-than-average guest suites, which are loaded with amenities and perfectly suited
for business and leisure travelers. The new hotel features 75 suites: 60 studios and 15 one-bedrooms. Each suite
includes a complete kitchen, comfortable recliner, 25-inch television, large business desk, adjustable executive
chair, and two phone lines including data port.
Other amenities include free local phone calls, low-cost long distance, 25-cent soft drinks, free laundry facilities,
free video and CD checkouts and an upscale exercise room. Food items, snacks and sundries are available 24-hours-a-day
at grocery store prices from the honor-based Candlewood Cupboard pantry.
``Candlewood's value is well-known in North Carolina,'' says Kim King, hotel general manager. ``Our team is excited
about offering another excellent lodging choice for business travelers to the area.''
