MAGGIE VALLEY, NC -- A ground breaking ceremony for the first of a series of Villa Condominiums at Maggie Valley
Resort & Country Club took place this date.
This multi-million dollar development will feature privately-owned luxurious condominiums with views of the mountains
and the fairways. The development plans also call for expansion of the clubhouse and other facilities. Condominium
floor plans have two or three bedrooms. There are five floor plans ranging in size from approximately 1300 to 2000
square feet.
The Maggie Valley Resort & Country Club was recently purchased from Hotel Properties of America who had owned
the property since 1983. The Resort was founded in 1962 by William Prevost of Waynesville, NC.
The Resort's beautiful and challenging eighteen-hole golf course has been rated by Southern Living's Travel Guide
and by Golfweek as being among the top 50 Southern Resort Courses, one of only six so rated in North Carolina.
The new owners are Maggie Valley Resort, LLC, and the managing partners are Marcus A. Fields and Walter D. Shealy
III. The developing partner is Maggie Valley Development Company LLC. The General Contractor for Condominium development
is Lowder Construction Company, LLC.
