Ameristar Casinos Names Alan Rose Senior Vice President of Construction

LAS VEGAS, NV -- Alan Rose has been appointed senior vice president of construction for Ameristar Casinos, Inc. (Nasdaq: ASCA), a Las Vegas-based entertainment company. In this capacity, he will be responsible for directing construction activities at all of Ameristar's six properties. Rose has more than 30 years of construction management experience within the hospitality and entertainment industries, most recently with Walt Disney Imagineering.

Prior to joining Ameristar, Rose was vice president of Walt Disney Imagineering and managed major projects ranging from $100 to $300 million. Known as a hands-on manager, he has been involved in the concept, design and construction of hotels and resorts in both Florida and California, including the Grand California Hotel and Downtown Disney, the Coronado Springs Hotel, City of Celebration, BoardWalk Inn and Villas, the Disney Institute, Villas at Vero Beach Resort, and the Hilton Head Island Resort in South Carolina.

Rose is a civil engineering graduate of Ohio State University and served as vice president of office and mixed-use construction for Homart Development Co. in Chicago prior to joining Disney. In that position, he was responsible for the design and construction of the company's office building and mixed-use projects throughout the United States, with volumes in excess of $560 million.
