Mintek's WinTrack Points Saves Trees With Paperless Preventative Maintenance for the Hospitality Industry

DUNEDIN, FL -- Mintek Corporation, developer of the WinTrack® suite of mobile applications, yesterday announced WinTrack points version 2.0, a significant upgrade that incorporates preventative maintenance for hotel engineering staff.

``This update allows our hotel customers the ability to schedule preventative maintenance activities one-time and have it automatically assigned to an engineer at the time the PM is due,'' said Mark Sokol, Director of Product Marketing. ``The engineer completing the PM then updates and requests closing on the handheld; all without use of the current industry standard - the clipboard.''

Built for Palm OS® handheld devices, WinTrack points ensures accountability and accuracy by incorporating barcodes to verify equipment and date/time stamp all activity. The information captured at the point of maintenance is updated from the handheld to a centralized system for accurate information for management reporting.

Some of the unique features of version 2.0 include the:

-- Ability to send reports in Adobe(TM) PDF format. All standard 
reports can now be sent through email to internal directors or 
corporate engineering staff without having to print on paper. 

-- Audits/readings by equipment. Automatically identify the 
appropriate equipment and request input (such as chiller gauge 
readings), by surveying the engineer for answers entered directly 
on the handheld. 

-- PM Tasks by equipment and manufacturer. Tasks associated with the 
preventative maintenance are displayed on the handheld, ensuring 
consistency for all preventative maintenance activities. 


Mintek will be displaying this latest version of WinTrack(TM) points at HITEC in Orlando June 26-28, booth 1285. WinTrack points version 2.0 will be available July 2001.
