SAN DIEGO, CA -- The Coronado Island Marriott Resort is proud to announce that it's one of five Marriott International properties that has been recently awarded with the prestigious 2001 Mobil Travel Guide Four-Star Award. Mobil Travel Guide's ratings committee is comprised of culinary and hospitality professionals who evaluate lodgings and restaurants on quality, elegance and service from a traveler's or restaurant diner's perspective. This award is testimony to the dedication and excellence that the staff of the Coronado Island Marriott Resort has to its guests.

The 300 room Coronado Island Marriott Resort is an intimate resort, with a sense of Mediterranean elegance. With a picturesque setting on 16 waterfront acres overlooking the enchanting San Diego Bay, the dazzling view of San Diego's city lights and playful waterways make this resort a true island paradise. This resort pampers its guests in a unique island setting, leaving them feeling ``so close, yet so far away,'' and with a daily Water Taxi, downtown San Diego is just six minutes away for day and evening enjoyment.

According to Jim Burns, General Manager, ``We have strived since we acquired the hotel three years ago to achieve world class levels of product and service excellence. This award is evidence we are on our way in achieving this goal.''

The resort has just unveiled the plans for a new ``World Class Spa'' opening June 2002. Most treatment rooms will have private balconies and views of the bay. Water is the recurring theme of this elegant Mediterranean-styled spa and as guests arrive they will be greeted with a two-story cascading waterfall, and luxurious tiles and fabrics.

The Spa will be 23,000 square feet and will feature 24 treatment rooms, sauna, whirlpool, fully detailed locker rooms, restful waiting areas, a juice bar, salon, spa boutique, a complete state-of-the-art fitness center and an outdoor pool. Therapeutic treatments and opulent services such as 15 massage, 5 facial, 3 wet rooms and the ever-popular ``couples'' massage room.
