LAS VEGAS, NV -- Tom Malone, CPA, has been appointed director of internal audit for Ameristar Casinos, Inc. (Nasdaq:
ASCA), a Las Vegas-based gaming company. In this capacity, Malone will be responsible for overseeing internal controls
to ensure compliance with gaming regulations. He also will be in charge of the company's operational audits.

Prior to joining Ameristar, Malone spent 15 years with KPMG, most recently in Cairo, Egypt. He was a partner with
the accounting firm the last four years with principal responsibilities in audit and assurance related services.
His practice, in addition to the hospitality and construction industries, includes real estate and the public sector.
Additionally, Malone successfully led all aspects of the marketing, selling and delivery of KPMG's services to
global client organizations within those industries.

Malone has a bachelor's degree in accounting and business administration from the University of Illinois. He is
a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Illinois and New York Societies of Public
Accountants and the American Chamber of Commerce.
