Press Release: Travelocity.com Inc.
July 17, 2001
FORT WORTH, TX -- Travelocity.com Inc. (Nasdaq: TVLY), the leading travel Web site, and British Airways announced
yesterday an agreement that establishes Travelocity as British Airways' first global online travel partner. The
multi-year agreement extends British Airways' current relationship with Travelocity's North American Web sites
to also include Travelocity's European sites.
``This agreement is a further step in the expansion of our online business,'' said Dale Moss, British Airways'
Director of Sales. ``We have a successful track record with the U.S. and Canadian Travelocity sites, and we hope
to increase that with the inclusion of the European market.''
British Airways has worked with Travelocity's U.S.-based site (www.Travelocity.com
) for almost two years and with the Canadian site (www.Travelocity.ca
) for one year. The expanded relationship will include the U.K. (www.Travelocity.co.uk
) and German (www.Travelocity.de ) sites, and it will establish an international
integrated marketing program involving joint promotions, advertising and e-mail campaigns.
``We're excited about working with British Airways in Europe -- where it plays such a pivotal role -- as well as
expanding on our relationship in North America,'' said Terrell B. Jones, president and chief executive officer
of Travelocity.com. ``In addition to helping British Airways grow its online business, we look forward to offering
our customers more and better reasons to take advantage of BA's market-leading product on its extensive global
network.''
