Aztar Appoints Cruise Line Executive to Board

PHOENIX, AZ -- Aztar Corporation (NYSE: AZR) yesterday announced the appointment of Richard J. Glasier, executive vice president and chief financial officer of Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., to the Aztar board of directors. The appointment is subject to approval by the appropriate gaming authorities.

Mr. Glasier, 56 years of age, joined Royal Caribbean as senior vice president and chief financial officer in 1986 and was named executive vice president in 1996. Mr. Glasier is responsible for Royal Caribbean's financial, legal, risk management and corporate planning functions as well as the firm's supply chain and commercial development activities. Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. is the world's second largest cruise line. Mr. Glasier served in various capacities with Ramada Inns, Inc., from 1978 to 1985, and previously with NCR Corporation. He holds a B.A. degree in economics from Cornell College and an M.B.A. from Southern Methodist University. He is a resident of Miami, Florida.
