Angus Cheng Named Director of Development for Hong Kong by Walt Disney Imagineering

BURBANK, CA -- Angus Cheng has joined Walt Disney Imagineering as director, Development for Hong Kong, it was announced today by Timur F. Galen, Imagineering's senior vice president and managing director for Hong Kong.

Cheng will serve as the central point of contact for Walt Disney Imagineering's Hong Kong-based project team, which is developing the new theme park resort on Lantau Island. The Hong Kong Disneyland project at completion of the initial phase includes a Disneyland- branded theme park, hotels and a retail, dining and entertainment complex, targeted to open in 2005/2006. In this role, he will serve as a liaison with both the Hong Kong SAR government and the Imagineering team in the United States.

Cheng's initial focus will be establishing Walt Disney Imagineering's development operations in Hong Kong, with responsibility for local organizational design, procurement and hiring strategies.

``Angus Cheng is an experienced development specialist who has extensive knowledge of Hong Kong and its regional market, in addition to having worked with Disney for several years on a large-scale international project,'' said Galen. ``Angus' expertise in business strategy, real estate development, design and construction will be an invaluable asset to our entire team as we move forward on Hong Kong Disneyland.''

A resident of Hong Kong, Cheng most recently spent eight years with Bouygues/Dragages ET Travaux Publics as development director, responsible for the company's strategic and business development in Hong Kong, China and Taiwan.

He originally joined Disney in 1990 as development manager for Euro Disney Development. Based in Paris, Cheng worked on real estate development for the Disneyland Paris Resort until 1993.

Cheng received a master of business administration degree from California State University, Hayward, and earned a master's degree in architecture and urban design, with a minor in real estate development, from Cornell University. He also holds a bachelor's degree in architecture from McGill University in Montreal.

Walt Disney Imagineering is the division responsible for designing and developing Disney's theme parks, hotels, cruise ships and commercial architecture worldwide.
