Press Release
July 2, 2001
VALPARAISO, IN -- Hampton(TM), the national brand of mid-priced Hampton Inn® and Hampton Inn & Suites®
hotels, Friday announced the official opening of its 100th Hampton Inn & Suites hotel, located in Valparaiso,
Ind.
The franchised hotel is especially unique because it is also the brand's first new Hampton Inn & Suites prototype,
announced last year.
The Valparaiso Hampton Inn & Suites will be managed by Good Hospitality Services Inc., operator of several
Hampton hotels across Northern Indiana. The new hotel is located at the intersection of US 30 and US 49 in Indiana.
Featuring a total of 77 rooms, the three-story hotel offers 59 traditional rooms and 18 studio suites. The studio
suites are a new addition to the redefined Hampton Inn & Suites hotel, providing travelers with a spacious
living room area with wet bar, microwave, refrigerator, sleeper sofa and spacious work surface area in addition
to a separate bedroom with a walk-in closet and bath area.
``Our new Hampton Inn & Suites hotel is an exciting addition to the Valparaiso market,'' said Bryan Moore,
director of sales and marketing for Good Hospitality Services Inc. ``With the full complement of guest services
and amenities that Hampton Inn & Suites offers, we expect this hotel to become a preferred choice in lodging
for business and leisure travelers in the area.''
The hotel is located less than one mile from Valparaiso University and next to Strowbow Restaurant, which offers
two complimentary beverages in addition to room service for guests staying at the Valparaiso Hampton Inn &
Suites.
All rooms in the Valparaiso Hampton Inn & Suites include a mini-refrigerator and microwave, iron and ironing
board, coffee maker and hair dryer. Rooms with whirlpool tub are also available. Additional hotel amenities include
a large indoor pool and whirlpool, exercise room, guest laundry facility, a meeting room accommodating up to 80
people, and a lobby breakfast area serving daily complimentary breakfast.
``There are more Hampton Inn & Suites hotels in design today than ever before,'' said Phil Cordell, senior
vice president, brand management, Hampton. ``We see the mix within our development portfolio for Hampton hotels
starting to change -- Hampton Inn & Suites is beginning to play a larger role in future development for the
overall hotel brand.''
Today, the Hampton Inn & Suites product accounts for about 10 percent of the Hampton brand portfolio of more
than 1,000 hotels open.
All Hampton hotels feature many value-added services and amenities for consumers, including a free breakfast, free
local telephone calls, no surcharge for long-distance access when using a calling card, a free in-room movie channel,
an in-room coffee maker, iron and ironing board, free accommodations for children 18 years old and younger when
sharing a room with their parents, and 75 percent guest rooms designated as non-smoking. In addition, Hampton hotels'
unconditional 100% Satisfaction Guarantee promises complete satisfaction to each guest, or their night's stay is
free.
Guests of the Valparaiso Hampton Inn & Suites who are members of the Hilton HHonors® guest reward program
can Double Dip® to earn Points & Miles(TM) for every qualifying stay.
The hotel's address is: 1451 Silhavy Rd., Valparaiso, IN 46385; phone: 219/531-6424; fax: 219/531-6423.
