Renaissance Outperforms Competition in Consumer Reports Survey

WASHINGTON, DC -- Renaissance Hotels, Resorts and Suites was ranked in the July issue of Consumer Reports magazine as one of the nation's best hotel brands. Approximately 41,000 readers responded to Consumer Reports' ``2000 Annual Questionnaire'' and rated Renaissance ahead of Hyatt, Westin, Hilton and Sheraton for ``value, service, upkeep and lack of problems.'' Renaissance also received an impressive overall satisfaction score of 82 -- four points higher than its nearest competitor. According to Consumer Reports, scores of 80 and above represent ``very satisfied'' customers.

At least six new Renaissance hotels will open by the end of 2002, bringing the total number of Renaissance hotels worldwide to nearly 120. Among the new hotels opening are: Renaissance Pere Marquette Hotel in New Orleans, La.; Renaissance Hollywood Hotel in Hollywood, Calif.; Renaissance Tianjin Hotel in Tianjin, China; Renaissance Mumbai Hotel in Mumbai, India; Renaissance Tunis Hotel in Tunis, Tunisia; and Renaissance Golden View Hotel in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.
