La Quinta Upgrades Marketing Distribution With Lanyon's PropertyVault; Enhanced Marketing Presence Expected to Result in Improved Market Share

Press Release: Lanyon, Inc.
January 23, 2001
DALLAS, TX -- Lanyon (http://www.lanyon.com) announced its latest PropertyVault customer with the signing of La Quinta Inns, Inc. In addition to Lanyon's marketing content repository, La Quinta will upgrade to RFPpublisher and add the HODpublisher and RatePublisher modules. La Quinta's decision was driven on the need to support its sales team with a strong marketing presence across all distribution channels.

Ivonne LaBoy, Vice President of Marketing for La Quinta stated, ``Our aggressive growth strategy requires a strong marketing distribution program. By leveraging PropertyVault's programs, we are able to create and distribute a compelling presentation highlighting our hotels to all our key distribution partners quickly and accurately. Lanyon has proven their ability to turn technology into a marketing tool, something which is key for La Quinta as we strive for 100 percent guest satisfaction and substantial growth.''

La Quinta is upgrading from Lanyon's RFPassist Windows application to the Web-based PropertyVault and its RFPpublisher module. The new system enables properties to update RFP information directly on the Web, eliminating mundane rekeying at the operations center. Additionally, it ensures that travel agents and online resources are getting the most current and accurate information. By separating the database from the application, RFP content can now be reused for other critical distribution channels including GDSs and the Internet.

``La Quinta's module selection will enable them to streamline the RFP process, produce thousands of high-quality corporate and consortia bids, immediately publish the subsequent negotiated rates, and keep their GDS hotel descriptions fresh, all through a single integrated system. It's a mouthful, but fundamental to a hotel company's sales effort,'' said Brad Fred, Lanyon President. ``La Quinta is one of the best values in lodging and we look forward to spreading the word.''

About PropertyVault

PropertyVault is Lanyon's content and channel management solution for hotels. At the heart of PropertyVault is a robust multimedia repository housing all property and chain level marketing content. Content can be deposited with a browser, enabling individual properties to maintain their own marketing presentation, while dramatically reducing central maintenance costs and backlog. Since all major distribution channels (including internal users) can be fed from PropertyVault, high-cost, channel-specific databases can be eliminated, automatically improving content quality by increasing reuse. Channel-specific publishing tools, incorporating requirements of both the GDSs and the Internet, integrate to form a comprehensive enterprise solution.
