ANGELS CAMP, CA -- Robert Smith has been named Executive Chef of Greenhorn Creek Resort, according to General Manager
Ed Conway.
``Robert brings a distinctive taste and style and a high standard of service to the entire food and beverage operations
that will be a source of pride for the members and guests at Greenhorn Creek,'' Conway said.
Smith is responsible for all food and beverage operations of the 390-acre resort and conference center including
Camps Restaurant, the 1998, 1999 and 2000 recipient of ``Wine Spectator's'' Award of Excellence.
Prior to joining Greenhorn Creek Resort, Smith,39, served as executive sous chef at Columbus Marriott North and
executive chef at Lakeview Resort. He brings with him extensive food and beverage management experience with Marriott
Hotels, Red Lion Hotels and Crown Sterling Suites. Smith earned his degree in Culinary Arts from Johnson and Wales
College and has received numerous culinary awards including the Distinguished Service Award from Marriott Hotels.
Beginning Spring 2001, Greenhorn Creek Resort will be a full-service resort complete with 70 guest rooms and suites,
Camps Restaurant, conference and banquet facilities featuring a variety of function space and an 18-hole championship
golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. Guests will also enjoy the use of two heated pools, tennis courts
and a complete fitness facility with saunas and massage rooms.
