Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts Again Claims Five of Mobil's Coveted Five-Star Awards

Five Properties Honored for Second Consecutive Year

Press Release: Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts
January 15, 2001
TORONTO, ONT -- ExxonMobil, publisher of the Mobil Travel Guides, has once again named a total of five Four Seasons properties among the recipients of its prestigious Five-Star awards for 2001. Repeating their success of last year, the properties are: Four Seasons Hotel Atlanta; Four Seasons Hotel Boston; Four Seasons Hotel Chicago; Four Seasons Hotel New York; and Four Seasons Resort Palm Beach.

The announcement by ExxonMobil marked a triumph for Four Seasons, the only hotel company to receive five of the coveted Five-Star awards. ``This great honor is a tribute to the dedicated staff and management of our hotels,'' observed Wolf Hengst, president, worldwide hotel operations, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts. ``We consider the fact that each of our properties located in North America is rated at four or five stars a real achievement especially since Mobil criteria identifies service as the distinguishing feature for hotels in these categories.''

The ExxonMobil Travel Guide Five-Star Awards are reserved for an elite group of establishments that uphold standards of excellence rated by an independent network of national culinary and hospitality experts. Award winners will be honored at a ceremony in April.

Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts is the world's leading operator of luxury hotels and currently manages 48 properties in 20 countries, primarily under the Four Seasons and Regent brand names. This year marks the company's 40th anniversary. Hotels poised to enter the market in 2001 include Dublin, Ireland; Caracas, Venezuela; Prague, Czech Republic and San Francisco, California.
