FORT LAUDERDALE, FL -- Daniel J. Melk, chairman of Luxury Resorts International, announced today that Rosewood
Hotels & Resorts has been appointed to operate The Atlantic, a 130-unit oceanfront hotel/condominium to be
built in Fort Lauderdale.
Rosewood, known for its ultra-luxury, award-winning hotels and resorts, has a distinct portfolio of properties
including The Mansion on Turtle Creek in Dallas, Las Ventanas al Paraiso in Mexico, The Lanesborough in London,
and Bradrutt's Palace in St. Moritz, among others.
``The decision by Rosewood to manage The Atlantic is a reflection of Ft. Lauderdale as a world class destination,
and our company's dedication to developing the most exclusive property in Southeast Florida,'' said Melk.
The Atlantic, scheduled to open in the fall of 2002, features amenities including a gourmet beachfront restaurant,
oceanfront pool with cafe and private cabanas, and a 10,000 sq. ft. world-class spa. Melk added, ``Rosewood will
offer owners and guests an array of five-star services that meet the demands of today's affluent and discriminating
clientele.''
Residences will come fully furnished and decorated by renowned interior designer Lynn Wilson and Associates in
collaboration with Rosewood, to meet the hotelier's exacting standards of design and luxury quality.
