LAKE OSWEGO, OR -- Trainer's Club today announced the signing of an agreement to lease 13,000 square feet of retail
space located in Portland, Oregon from Avalon Hotel Partners, LLC.
The company plans to build a luxury health club, called Trainer's Club Spa, which will include a day spa, fitness
center, hair salon, and juice bar.
This will be the second health facility owned and operated by Trainer's Club, Inc., an Oregon Corporation. The
company's first club is located in Lake Oswego, Oregon and opened for business in July of this year. Trainer's
Club builds up-scale health clubs in the Pacific Northwest and offers a high level of service and one-on-one attention
to a private and limited membership base.
``We selected Trainer's Club to be located in the new Avalon Hotel because of the company's management team and
ability to provide excellent customer service to a higher-end clientele,'' said Paul Brenneke of Avalon Hotel Parters.

The $10.6 billion fitness industry continues to experience significant growth throughout the United States with
nearly 16,000 clubs now open nationwide (Source: American Business Information, Inc.). Surprisingly, with over
15 million people who are members of commercial health clubs, the market for high-touch, service-focused offerings
is yet untapped. Trainer's Club plans to create club environments which appeal to a higher demographic and do a
better job of servicing customer needs than the large, ``mega-gym'' chains such as Gold's, Bally's, and 24-Hour
Fitness.
The new Trainer's Club facility is being created within the Avalon Hotel, which is currently under construction
in Portland, Oregon. Trainer's Club Spa will be luxuriously appointed and will include four primary amenities:
The fitness center will be open to members and hotel guests only, however all other amenities will be open to
the public. Trainer's Club Spa is scheduled to open in the Spring of 2001 and will occupy 13,000 square feet on
the first two floors of the new Avalon Hotel, located on Macadam Avenue in the John's Landing area. Memberships
to the fitness center can be purchased now by contacting Trainer's Club in Lake Oswego.
