HOLLYWOOD, CA -- The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel will be affiliated with SRS-WORLDHOTELS, a European based collection
of 400 independent hotels and resorts beginning Feb. 14, announced Don Hough, managing director of the hotel.
In addition to the new affiliation, the hotel is presently undergoing a $6 million renovation which will include
complete refurbishment of the guest rooms including internet access in each room. A new business center has been
added to accommodate the hotel's growing corporate clientele. The renovation is scheduled to be completed in December,
2001.
The renovation has been carefully planned to work well with the character and historic charm of the property, according
to Hough. The lobby will maintain its famous hand-painted ceiling and wrought-iron grill work.
Renovation plans also call for an upgrading of the hotel's popular mezzanine level display of the history of Hollywood.
The exhibit tells the story of Hollywood from the days when the first homes were built in the Hollywoodland development
to present day. The hotel was opened in 1927 and hosted the first Academy Awards ceremony in 1929 where Douglas
Fairbanks served as master of ceremonies. The ceremony took place in the Blossom Room, which is the hotel's largest
meeting space, which has recently been refurbished. The Hollywood Roosevelt has 14,000 square feet of meeting space.

historic locations on the Boulevard that is also an ideal location for both business and leisure travelers,'' said
Tony Chawla, director of sales and marketing for the Hollywood Roosevelt. ``As Hollywood undergoes a renovation
we thought it was time for the Hollywood Roosevelt to put on a new face to the public.'' Previously, the Hollywood
Roosevelt was affiliated with Choice Hotels.
