Yet another of Aspen’s venerable ski lodges has stepped forward with plans to expand, continuing a trend that has
local resort officials beaming.
Owners of the Christmas Inn on Main Street have submitted plans to the city to construct eight additional lodge
rooms and three affordable housing units. The two-phase project is slated to begin this fall with a renovation
of the lobby area.
The inn is the latest in a string of lodges to come forward with improvement plans at a time when Aspen has been
bemoaning a decade-long slide in the number of pillows it has available to tourists.
