Hilton Hotels Eliminates Energy Charge

Press Release: Hilton Hotels Corp.
August 6, 2001
BEVERLY HILLS, CA -- Hilton Hotels Corp. Friday announced that the energy charge currently in place at certain of its hotels will be eliminated effective Sept. 1, 2001.

The energy charge was introduced in selected markets earlier this year as a temporary measure to respond to high energy costs.

``Our evaluation of energy prices in the markets where the charge has been in place indicates that energy costs appear to be stabilizing. That, combined with the energy conservation efforts we have undertaken at our hotels, has led us to conclude that it is appropriate at this time to eliminate what was always intended to be a temporary measure. We appreciate the patience and cooperation our guests have shown during this time,'' said Dieter Huckestein, executive vice president, Hilton Hotels Corp., and president hotel operations owned and managed.
