TOKYO, Aug 01, 2001 (AsiaPulse via COMTEX) -- Four Seasons Hotels Inc. plans to open four or five new hotels in
Japan over the next decade, Isadore Sharp, chairman and CEO of the luxury hotel operator told The Nihon Keizai
Shimbun Tuesday.
The company had already opened a Four Seasons in Bunkyo Ward in 1992, and a second is slated to open near Tokyo
Station in autumn of next year. The 57-room hotel is to be located in a high-rise building now being built by a
Hong Kong firm in the Marunouchi business district, Sharp said.
Sharp cited the hotel's convenience and service as its selling points.
The company is also considering converting Osaka and Kyoto hotels owned by business partner Fujita Kanko Inc. (TSE:9722)
into Four Seasons hotels. Four Seasons may also move into a resort area.
