NEW YORK, NY -- Cendant Corporation (NYSE: CD) yesterday announced that FISI-Madison Financial's President, Dan Tarantin has been appointed FISI's new CEO with added responsibilities as CEO of Benefit Consultants, Inc. and Long Term Preferred Care.

Tarantin succeeds Ken Keith, who has served as CEO since 1996. Keith will continue to serve the companies as a consultant on potential strategic acquisitions, as well as transitional items.

``Dan's appointment as president and CEO is an important and exciting step in the next stage of our company's growth and development,'' said John Chidsey, chairman and CEO of Cendant's Financial Services division, and chairman and CEO of Cendant's Vehicle Services division. ``Dan's management and leadership experience, as well as his successful tenure at Cendant, are great assets to this business unit.''

Before joining FISI-Madison in August, Tarantin served as president and CEO of Jackson-Hewitt Inc., the nation's second-largest and fastest-growing tax preparation services firm. Under Tarantin's leadership, the company doubled revenue and added nearly 1000 new locations.

Prior to his tenure at Jackson-Hewitt Inc., Tarantin was a founding member of Cendant's Preferred Alliance Group, and was responsible for developing new business alliances and incremental revenue streams. He is credited with helping to grow revenue in the Preferred Alliance group from roughly $10 million in 1994 to nearly $100 million in 2000.

Tarantin holds an MBA in finance from Rutgers University in Newark, New Jersey.
