LAS VEGAS, NV -- Acres Gaming (Nasdaq:AGAM) yesterday announced that it had signed a contract with Siena Hotel
Spa Casino for the purchase of $1.8 million of Acres Advantage(TM) products for the new resort.
The resort, scheduled to open mid-summer, is the first new property to open in Reno, Nev. in seven years. The casino
system will include Acres' proprietary hardware, software and bonusing technology.
``Siena is raising the bar in Reno with a high quality product intended to capture an affluent customer,'' said
Acres' president, Rich Schneider. ``Acres Bonusing(TM) will play a pivotal role in building customer loyalty by
enhancing the gaming experience across the entire casino floor.''
Siena will open with 800 slot machines, live table games, a hotel and spa designed to evoke a neo-Tuscan flavor.
Several food outlets are planned including an intimate exhibition-style restaurant surrounded by a wine cellar.
``We expect that Acres Bonusing will give us the kind of recognition that will distinguish Siena among the top
gaming entertainment providers in Reno,'' explained Don Kajans, Siena's chief executive officer. ``The added value
equates to a perception of quality that's consistent with our overall strategy.''
Acres will include a discussion of the Siena contract in conjunction with its previously announced conference call
that will be held at 4:30 p.m. EST on March 1, 2001. The conference call will be hosted by Bud Glisson, Acres'
chairman of the board and chief executive officer, and Reed Alewel, Acres' chief financial officer.
