Press Release
December 4, 2000
TAHOE CITY, CA -- Several North Lake Tahoe resorts have banded together with an offer that is hard to refuse: a free introductory ski or snowboard lesson including rental equipment and beginner lift ticket. On the weekend of December 9-10, Alpine Meadows, Northstar-at-Tahoe, Squaw Valley USA and Sugar Bowl will provide a free ski or snowboard lesson/equipment/lift ticket package to first-timers. If you've ever thought of learning how to ski or snowboard, this is the time to learn, says Phil McKenney, executive director of the North Lake Tahoe Resort Association. These North Shore resorts have some of the finest ski and snowboard schools in the country, and learning from a certified instructor enhances the success and fun of skiing and snowboarding.

As an added benefit, first-timer participants will be given a punch-card voucher good for discounts on future lessons throughout the 2000/2001 season. Anyone interested in taking part in the North Lake Tahoe Free for First-Timers weekend can merely show up at the rental shop or ticket window of the participating resorts. Please keep in mind that the free introductory packages are for adults and children ages 5 and above. Private lessons and full and half-day childrens ski school/day care programs are excluded from the Free for First-Timers weekend.
