December 4, 2000
PHOENIX, AZ -- The former sales manager at one of Shell Vacations resorts has been selected to direct sales operations for all three of the company's Arizona vacation ownership properties.

As Shell's new Regional Director of Sales for Arizona, Perry Bergelt has assumed sales direction for a sales staff of approximately 100 professionals at the company's Legacy Golf Resort in Phoenix, Starr Pass Golf Suites in Tucson and Orange Tree Golf Resort in Scottsdale. Previously Director of Sales at Orange Tree, he took over Tucson this past spring and The Legacy and the entire region several months later. The company recently launched Shell Vacations Club, an innovative points-based vacation club, which is now being sold at its Arizona resorts.

Prior to joining Shell, Bergelt was top producer with Sunterra's Royal Dunes Resort on Hilton Head Island. With just 14 months in the business, he is a relative newcomer to the timeshare industry. He was previously in the automotive industry in Miami where he was a managing partner for a Pontiac dealership.

According to Perry Snyderman, Managing Director of the Northbrook, Illinois-based vacation ownership company, "Under Perry Bergelt's energetic leadership, Arizona has quickly risen to become the number one region in the entire Shell Vacations Club system."

In explaining his team's success, Bergelt added, "We pride ourselves here in Arizona in having some of the most luxurious properties in the entire Shell system. When these are combined with the Shell Vacations Club point system and the newly launched Global Points Network from RCI, our selling process becomes that much easier."

Shell Vacations currently operates 15 resorts in Canada, California, Arizona and Hawaii and serves more than 50,000 owners. The company is one of the nation's largest independent vacation ownership developers and is expected to generate over $100 million in sales in 2001.
