KAILUA-KONA, HI -- Shell Vacations Club has recently announced the appointment of John Arriaga, RRP as the Director of Sales for Shell's newly acquired Holua Resort at Mauna Loa Village. Arriaga will report to Michael Butler, Shell's Regional Director for Hawaii. Arriaga will direct total sales operations at Shell's Kona resort, located on the Big Island. He and his staff will be responsible for the sales of 25 one- and two- and three-bedroom villas at the Holua Resort at Mauna Loa Village. When completed in June of 2000, a total of 73 villas at the resort will be available for sale at the new property. The company recently launched its point-based Shell Vacations Club, which is now being sold in Hawaii and at the Holua Resort at Mauna Loa Village.

Says Arriaga, "Since we are in a start-up situation here and in need of many resort professionals for our staff, I would enjoy hearing from friends and associates." He adds that he is seeking sales managers, in-house sales professionals, OPC and administrative staff.

A graduate of California State University at Humboldt in Education and a Marine Corps Vietnam veteran, Arriaga is not a newcomer to the Islands. He began his vacation ownership career approximately 20 years ago in Hawaii and has since worked in Canada and Mexico. He previously served as General Sales Manager at Shell's San Francisco resort, the Inn At The Opera, now sold out and has served in a variety of sales positions with Shell Vacations for over ten years, receiving many top performance awards.

In addition to its other nine resorts in California, Arizona and Canada, Shell has six other Hawaiian sister resorts. They include: The Kona Coast Resort I and II, Paniolo Greens, Lawai Beach Resort, Pono Kai Resort, Kauai Coast Resort @ The Beachboy and the Holua Resort at Mauna Loa Village.
