Trendwest Resorts Inc., a Redmond, Wash.-based vacation time-share company, has acquired the Colonial Inn in Reno and plans to convert the 168-room property into 64 time-share condominium units and a small on-site sales office.

The renovated property will include a swimming pool and fitness facility, and will be within walking distance to several major downtown casinos.

It will support the company's Northern California sales effort and provide another drive-to destination for time-share owners in the WorldMark system.

Trendwest also signed an agreement to acquire 37 condominium units at the La Paloma Beach and Tennis Resort near Rosarito on Mexico's Baja Peninsula, about 60 miles south of San Diego.
