Kansas City-based Agency Receives Governor's Torch of Excellence Award

JEFFERSON CITY, MO -- MMG Worldwide last night received the Governor's Torch of Excellence Award, recognizing the Kansas City-based marketing communications firm for its commitment to forming partnerships with women- and minority-owned businesses in serving the needs of the Missouri Division of Tourism.

MMG Worldwide Chairman and CEO Don Montague accepted the Business Enterprise Award from Governor Carnahan at a ceremony held at the Capitol Plaza Hotel in Jefferson City.

MMG Worldwide has served as the public relations agency of record for the Missouri Division of Tourism since July 1999, and was recently named the Division's advertising agency of record.

In addition to working hand-in-hand with the Division of Tourism's African-American and Hispanic/Latino marketing firms, MMG Worldwide has joined forces with minority- and woman-owned firms throughout Missouri to attract greater numbers of travelers from all walks of life and grow the state's $12.6 billion tourism industry.

The Missouri Governor's Torch of Excellence Award was established by the Missouri Minority Business Advocacy Commission to recognize outstanding accomplishments in the area of diversity to serve as a model for business, industry and the workforce. It is a collective award recognizing public and private sectors as important factors in managing diversity in Missouri State Government.
