Press Release: NextHealth, Inc.
November 21, 2000
TUCSON, AZ -- NextHealth, Inc. (``the Company'') (Nasdaq: NEXT) announced yesterday that its subsidiary, Miraval,
a leading health and leisure resort and spa located in Catalina, Arizona, has been honored as the Top Spa in Zagat
Survey 2001 Top U.S. Hotels, Resorts & Spas.
Zagat Survey is the world's premier provider of consumer survey-based dining, lodging and leisure information.
The Zagat guide covers 800 of America's best lodgings as rated and reviewed by 19,600 frequent travelers, including
900 travel industry professionals. Each property is rated according to quality of room, service, dining and public
facilities (spas also receive ratings for treatments). Miraval received a rating of 29 out of a possible 30 and
was thus named the top stand-alone spa in the United States.
According to reviewer/surveyor comments ``Even hard core Type A's can't help but find a sense of calm the minute
they arrive at this desert retreat meant to heighten the senses, increase spiritual awareness and manage stress;
praise goes to an ''equine experience,`` rock climbing and biking and hiking on mountain trails; delicious fresh
food makes the newly soothed forget this is a spa.''
In commenting on the award, NextHealth Executive Vice President and Miraval General Manager Joseph DeNucci said,
``In last year's Zagat survey Miraval was described as ''awesome -- the best thought-out, most relaxing spa where
you can exercise your mind as well as your body`` ... we were termed ''the one to watch``. We are extremely pleased
to have moved into the #1 spot, and it is our goal to consistently provide the very best in personalized programs
and services for our guests.''
