ATLANTA, GA -- Suburban Lodges of America, Inc. (Nasdaq:SLAM), the nation's largest economy extended stay hotel
franchisor, announced yesterday a partnership with the Canadian Snowbird Association (CSA) to be their exclusive
Allied Partner for extended stay accommodations.
The Canadian Snowbird Association is Canada's largest long-term travel association. In the coming months, almost
500,000 Snowbirds will travel south to destinations throughout the U.S. including Florida, Arizona, Texas, California
and the Carolinas. CSA members are typically seniors, and 97% of them make one or more annual migrations to the
warmer U.S. climates. Snowbirds spend an average of 4.7 months in the U.S. during the winter season, and 91% of
them take an additional 7-10 day vacation in the summer or fall. Suburban Lodge is enthusiastically awaiting their
arrival, as they have forged a strategic alliance making them CSA's exclusive extended stay hotel supplier.
``Not only are there in excess of 1,000,000 room nights up for grabs on both the southbound and northbound migratory
routes, snowbirds are also joined by an average of 4.3 visiting friends and relatives, representing another 430,000

Suburban Lodge will be the only extended stay lodging chain promoted by the Canadian Snowbird Association. To increase
its exposure to CSA members, Suburban Lodge will be advertising in CSA's official publication for members, CSA
Newsmagazine. The brand will also increase its exposure through sponsorships of ``Snowbird Extravaganzas,'' North
America's largest mature lifestyle events. Suburban Lodge recently sponsored the 140,000-attendee event in Toronto,
and will sponsor it again in Florida, California, Arizona and Texas this coming January & February. Suburban
Lodge will even be creating a toll-free reservation line exclusively for CSA members. (In the meantime, CSA Members
can call 800-951-STAY(7829) for reservations.) They will also offer members and their visiting friends and relatives
discounts similar to AAA and AARP, and their properties will be furnished with ``Endorsed by the CSA'' decals.
