Bass Hotels & Resorts Names Katzman Regional Director of Sales and Marketing Southeast/Caribbean, Director of Marketing Hotel Inter-Continental Miami

MIAMI, FL -- Bass Hotels & Resorts (LON:BAS) (NYSE:BAS; ADR) has named Gil Katzman to the dual role of regional director of sales and marketing Southeast/Caribbean, and director of marketing for the Hotel Inter-Continental Miami. The announcement was made by Frederik de Roode, Regional Vice President Operations Southeast/Vice President and General Manager, Hotel Inter-Continental Miami.

Katzman will oversee the marketing aspect of Bass' company-owned and managed upscale properties from Hilton Head, S.C., to Puerto Rico, which encompasses ten hotels under the Inter-Continental and Crowne Plaza brands.

He will also serve as director of marketing of the newly renovated Hotel Inter-Continental Miami, one of Bass' global flagship properties. In this capacity he will be responsible for all aspects of marketing the 639-room hotel. The landmark downtown Hotel Inter-Continental Miami is in the midst of finalizing a multi-million dollar renovation, which included the complete remodeling of the hotel's lobby, restaurant, bar, and common areas, as well as a guest rooms renovation, and significant back-of-house and mechanical work.

Katzman was most recently director of sales at Miami Beach's Fontainebleau Hilton Resort, and prior to that he served as director of marketing at the Hilton Miami Airport Hotel. He also served in various executive-level marketing and sales capacities at New York's Waldorf Astoria.

A long-standing member of numerous professional travel industry associations, Katzman's affiliations include the Professional Convention Managers Association, and the Travel Industry Association, among others. He is a member of the board of directors of the Visitors Industry Council, and serves as a member of the Tourism Infrastructure Committee of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce. Katzman is a native of Tel Aviv, Israel, and a graduate from the Conrad N. Hilton College at the University of Houston.

The 639-room Hotel Inter-Continental Miami is located on Biscayne Bay in downtown Miami. The landmark property offers more than 61,000 square feet of meeting, exhibition and banquet space, totaling 26 rooms. It can accommodate 900 people for conferences, 2,700 for receptions and 1,200 for banquets.
