ESCONDIDO -- The Castle Creek Inn, a 30-room Bavarian resort with a checkered past, was sold yesterday at an auction
for just under $2.85 million.
Paul Walton, owner of the quaint inn, put it up for sale yesterday in a risky absolute auction. That means no minimum
bid was required. The property would be sold no matter what the final offer.
The buyer's name was not disclosed. But she is a San Diego resident and said she would continue to operate the
Inn as a resort, according to a statement by Alabama-based National Auction Group, which conducted the auction.
