Marriott International Names Dorothy Ingalls Corporate Secretary

WASHINGTON, DC -- Marriott International, Inc. (NYSE: MAR) announced yesterday that Dorothy M. Ingalls has been named corporate secretary. Her responsibilities will include serving as secretary at Marriott International's board of directors and annual shareholders meetings, and managing the company's shareholder proxy solicitations. Ms. Ingalls will continue in her capacity as a senior counsel in the Lodging Development section of the Marriott International Law Department, which provides legal services and counsel to the company in connection with development, management and financing of all Marriott branded lodging products.

W. David Mann, who has served as Marriott International's corporate secretary since February 1998, will continue in his position as assistant general counsel, corporate affairs.

Prior to joining Marriott in February of 1998, Ms. Ingalls practiced real estate and corporate law as an associate in the Washington, D.C., office of Proskauer Rose LLP and prior to that in the Washington, D.C., office of Arent Fox Kintner Plotkin and Kahn LLP.

A native of Shelby, Neb., Ms. Ingalls is a graduate of the University of Nebraska College of Business Administration and the University of Kansas School of Law.

Ms. Ingalls is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and is a member of the District of Columbia Bar Association. She lives in Potomac, Md.
