Company Press Release
May 2, 2000
ORLANDO, FL -- Orlando-based NetSoft (a division of InnHanse(tm) Corp.) has been selected by the Villas at Grand
Cypress Resort for exclusive installation of their high-speed Internet access and portal, QuickSilver(tm), to the
146 villas on the property at One N. Jacaranda Blvd. The installation is scheduled for completion by the second
week of May.
The QuickSilver network offers high-speed connectivity and Internet access for hotel rooms via the QuickSilver
portal. The portal provides guests with information on the hotel and its services; local restaurants, shopping
and areas of interest; plus, local and national news and weather, stock updates, access to travel planners and
much more.
``We are very excited about installing our portal in the Villas of Grand Cypress. The installation will offer guests
connection speeds up to 200 times faster than solutions in operation today,'' said NetSoft Corp. CEO Himesh Patel.
``Our next step is to install our `thin clients' (personal computers) to the rooms so guests are able to leave
their laptops behind. Our goal is to make it as easy as possible for the traveler as well as the hotelier,'' added
Patel.
Prior to the installation of QuickSilver, Grand Cypress was faced with massive re-wiring costs due to distance
between buildings. With the NetSoft solution, the costs for installation were reduced by 95 percent.
``If QuickSilver wasn't an option, the hotel would have been forced to completely re-wire the campus with fiber
optic cable and category five wiring, which would increase the cost of installation exponentially,'' commented
Brad Shuput, director of MIS, Villas of Grand Cypress. ``With NetSoft, the costs are reduced, telephone lines are
freed up and the solution is provided on a revenue sharing basis,'' added Shuput.
The installation was a joint effort between NetSoft, Nomadix, Alcatel and Paradyne, NetSoft's systems integration
and Portal delivery, Nomadix's network management gateway, Alcatel's switching equipment and Paradyne's DSL equipment.
The partnership between NetSoft and Paradyne allows for high speed Internet access to be distributed on their current
wiring for distances up to 40,000 feet. The property's investment in the QuickSilver solution was approximately
$5,000.
The Villas of Grand Cypress is the third resort/hotel to be completed in the Orlando area. In February, NetSoft's
QuickSilver portal was deployed at the Caribe Royal Resort Suites & Villas in Orlando. Phase one of the project
included 406 suites. Phase two of the Caribe Royal contract will include deployment of the QuickSilver portal in
all 1,328 units.
