VIEQUES ISLAND, Puerto Rico -- Roberto Cacho, managing partner of the new Martineau Bay Resort on Vieques Island,
Puerto Rico, yesterday announced termination of Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, Inc., as operators of the 156-room
super-luxury resort.
He stated that the $54-million property will open on October 1 and that negotiations are being finalized with another
operator, to be announced shortly.
Mr. Cacho added that resort construction, which has been handled exclusively by the Martineau Bay Partnership,
is nearly completed. He stated that the schedule for an October 1 opening is firm and that there will be no delay
or change of the date.
