SAVANNAH, GA -- The Greenbrier Spa at Savannah Harbor opens today at The Westin Savannah Harbor Resort. The $16 million project is the first spa modeled after The Greenbrier Spa in White Sulphur Springs, W.Va. and will offer the same facilities and treatments for which the original is world-renowned.

The Greenbrier Spa in White Sulphur Springs, W.Va. has provided spa treatments since the first inn was built in 1780 and is especially famous for baths in the sulphur-laden water of White Sulphur Springs. The design of The Greenbrier Spa at Savannah Harbor is modeled closely after the original, with similar color palettes and themes, and contains 10,500 square feet of spa space including 14 treatment rooms, four hydrotherapy rooms, two Scotch spray and Swiss showers.

To ensure a consistent product, the team who train The Greenbrier Spa staff at White Sulphur Springs have also trained spa technicians at The Greenbrier Spa at Savannah Harbor. Also, all spa services have been recreated to mirror the treatments offered at the original spa site. These treatments include: hydrotherapy; Swiss shower and Scotch spray; aromatherapy facials and massages; steam and sauna baths; body polishes; pedicures and manicures. The facility will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and also includes a fitness center featuring Cybex Equipment (treadmills, step machines and recumbent bikes), advanced fitness evaluations and personal one-on-one training sessions. Classes will be offered in aquanautics in the outdoor pool adjacent to The Club.

The Greenbrier Spa at Savannah Harbor joins The Club at Savannah Harbor and The Westin Savannah Harbor Resort as part of the Savannah Harbor development which will ultimately include a full-service marina, home sites, and shopping outlets. The Westin Savannah Harbor Resort joined Westin's world-class collection of over 25 resort properties Dec. 3, 1999.
