WASHINGTON, DC -- Marriott International, Inc. (NYSE: MAR) recently recognized top companies that franchise and
own Marriott select-service and extended-stay hotels at the company's Annual Owners Conference held in San Francisco.
White Lodging Services Corporation received the highly regarded Partnership Circle Award for exemplifying Marriott's
vision of hospitality excellence.
Based in Merrillville, Ind., White Lodging Services Corporation has been a Marriott franchisee for nine years and
was the first two-time winner of the Partnership Circle Award. The Partnership Circle Award recognizes a franchise
company that ranks among the top 10 in guest satisfaction scores for each of its Marriott brands, is committed
to excellence in associate satisfaction, has at least five Marriott hotels opened, and operates hotels in three
of the five select-service and extended-stay brands.
Also recognized was CSM Corporation, named the ``2000 Developer of the Year'' for its aggressive development of
Marriott's five select-service and extended-stay brands. CSM Corporation is headquartered in Minneapolis, Minn.,
and has been a Marriott franchisee for three years.
Five franchise companies were honored for their exceptional performance scores in service excellence. Award winners
include Larry Blumberg & Associates of Dothan, Ala., for Courtyard and SpringHill Suites; Campbell Motel Properties
of Brea, Calif., for Fairfield Inn; CSM Corporation for Residence Inn; and McKibbon Brothers, Inc. of Gainesville,
Ga., for TownePlace Suites.
