After four years away from Lake Tahoe, Simeon Miranda has returned to to Embassy Suites Resort Lake Tahoe as its
new general manager.
Formerly the hotel manager, Miranda, 39, moved to Sacramento to head up the resort's other properties, the Doubletree
and Red Lion Hotels.
"I'm very happy to return," Miranda said. "On a personal level, South Lake Tahoe is beautiful and
the quality of life is incredible. On a professional level, I am very proud to be part of such a distinctive, four-star
resort."
Miranda replaces Steve Solberg, who left the resort in June to open an Embassy Suites Resort in Manhattan, New
York. Interim managers were hired until a suitable replacement was found.
A Hawaiian native, Miranda has been in the hotel/hospitality industry since 1984. He has served with Embassy Suites'
parent company, Promus, for 14 years.
Knud Svendsen, director of sales and marketing, is excited to have Miranda back.
"Miranda will continue our theme of record profits, revenues and quality scores from our guests," Svendsen
said. "We are looking forward to his assistance with redevelopment and marketing Lake Tahoe as the premier
destination that it is."
