About theFairShare Forecast Workshop & Lab
Basic Segment: Introduction to FairShareForecasting & Trending Techniques
Points covered will include: Determining competitors expected RevPAR performance; Trending techniques; Market classifications; STAR as predictor; Analyzing data on STAR. Also, an introduction to the methodology and analysis used in FairShare Forecasting. This segment is ideal for users new to STAR or Yield/Revenue Management, or for those wishing to refresh basic analytical skills.
Advanced Segment: FairShareForecasting "Lab"
Advanced Interpretive skills of the Occupancy and ADR Indices emphasizing balance to achieve optimum long-term
RevPAR Share. Analysis of growth potential of rate and occupancy based on historic trending for future months.
With instructor’s guidance, participants will forecast Competitive Set RevPAR via the FairShareForecast for their
hotels using either a hard-copy work sheet, and/or the automated FairShareForecast worksheet (Excel v.), both provided.
(Attendees are encouraged to bring one or more laptop computers, per team.) Attendees are requested to bring
their most recent STAR Report along with Monthly Budgeted and Forecasted ADR & Occupancy. These numbers are
used in formula for calculating the hotels expected RevPAR Index by month. For advanced users and those attending
the basic segments wishing to upgrade skill set.
