Company Press Release
March 10, 2000
BEVERLY HILLS, CA -- Hilton HHonors®, one of the world's leading guest reward programs, has been recognized
by the readers of InsideFlyer magazine with the Best International Program of the Year, as well as first- and third-place
accolades for Best Award in the 12th Annual InsideFlyer Freddie Awards.
``We are delighted that frequent travelers around the world appreciate the benefits of our program and we are very
grateful for their recognition. These awards fuel our determination to continue delivering the most popular guest
reward program features to our members and to maintain Hilton HHonors' leadership ranking among its competitors,''
said Jeffrey Diskin, president and chief operating officer of Hilton HHonors Worldwide.
``Three years after the launch of Hilton HHonors as a global program, these esteemed awards are a testament to
the hard work and dedication of our HHonors teams worldwide.''
Representing its first- and third-place accolades for Best Award are the Going Global program for HHonors VIP members,
one feature of which provides six free nights for two at participating HHonors hotels for 100,000 points, and the
PointStretcher award, which allows members to redeem fewer points for higher-value rewards during specific time
periods at select HHonors hotels.
Named after airline marketing pioneer Sir Freddie Laker, the Freddies have come to be recognized as the ultimate
awards within the frequent flyer world. In their twelfth year, the annual Freddie Awards give frequent travelers
the opportunity to select the best airline, hotel and affinity card programs. The 1999 awards were sponsored by
InsideFlyer, MCI WorldCom, American Express SkyGuide, Biztravel.com, MaxMiles and ClickRewards.
