A major lodging milestone is coming to Ruidoso, New Mexico. The grand opening event of the new Ruidoso Motel 6
marks the 100th franchise for the 38-year-old brand. To celebrate this achievement, you are cordially invited to
a reception on Tuesday, July 11, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
We are honored to be opening this milestone property in the beautiful resort area of Ruidoso, N.M. Local attractions
include Casino Apache, Ski Apache, Ruidoso Downs (home of the world's richest quarter horse race), the Hubbard
Museum of the American West, and Spencer Theater for the Performing Arts. In addition to providing quality budget
lodging and excellent price-value, this 83-room property features our ``Motel of the 21st Century'' prototype design.
These properties have interior corridors, state-of-the-art heating and cooling systems, computerized front desks
and back offices, swimming pools, and electronic door locks. Speakers will include executives from Accor Economy
Lodging, the Dallas-based parent company of Motel 6, and property owners, Ron Hyden and Nafanit Bhatka of Compadre
Properties Inc. in Carlsbad, N.M. Also speaking at the event will be Ruidoso Mayor Tom Donaldson. And, don't be
surprised if Motel 6's spokesman, Tom Bodett, adds his folksy charm to this special event.
Motel 6, which now has more than 850 properties in the United States and Canada, was launched in 1962 and began
selectively franchising in 1996.
