LOS ANGELES, CA -- The Travelodge Hotels of Southern California unveiled a new Sleepy Bear's Den room at the Ronald McDonald House of Los Angeles during a ribbon-cutting celebration held on May 2, 2000.

As part of its alliance with Ronald McDonald House Charities, Travelodge Hotels, Inc. donates these special Den rooms to Ronald McDonald Houses throughout North America. The Sleepy Bear's Den rooms at the Ronald McDonald Houses are exact replicas of the over 470 Den rooms already in place at Travelodge properties throughout the United States and Canada.

``We're thrilled to donate a Sleepy Bear's Den room to the Los Angeles Ronald McDonald House,'' said Steven Nim, owner of the Travelodge Anaheim International Inn. ``The alliance between Travelodge and Ronald McDonald House Charities reinforces how dedicated we are to staying involved in our communities.''

The new Sleepy Bear's Den room is the Los Angeles Ronald McDonald House's second, with the first room opening in 1998. To date, Travelodge has donated 17 Sleepy Bear's Den Rooms to Ronald McDonald Houses across North America, with more planned for this year and into 2001.

``We're extremely pleased to again benefit from Travelodge's relationship with Ronald McDonald House,'' said Mike Elias, Manager of the Los Angeles Ronald McDonald House. ``We received wonderful feedback about the first Sleepy's Bear Den room here at the LA Ronald McDonald House, and we're delighted to be able to offer another of these great rooms to the families who stay with us.''

Sleepy Bear's Den rooms were created in 1997 to accommodate families traveling with children and are themed after Travelodge's award-winning mascot Sleepy Bear. Each is customized with a Sleepy Bear bedspread, curtains, micro-fridge, VCR and children's videos, child-sized chair, drinking cups and plush toys.

The first Travelodge hotel was introduced in 1939, in response to the need for homelike accommodations to welcome travelers. Today, Travelodge Hotels, Inc. is a growing franchise system of 575 upper-economy Travelodge and budget Thriftlodge properties, offering nearly 47,000 guestrooms throughout Canada, the United States and Mexico.
