Doubletree Hotel Renamed to Become the New Hilton Salt Lake City Center

SALT LAKE CITY, UT -- Hilton Hotels Corporation (NYSE:HLT) has announced the official conversion of the 495-room Doubletree Hotel in Salt Lake City to the NEW Hilton Salt Lake City Center this morning, representing another addition to Hilton's portfolio of owned and managed hotels.

The Hilton Salt Lake City Center is currently putting the finishing touches on several renovation projects, including guestrooms, recreational facilities, and a new conference center with leading-edge technology. The first of several grand opening events begins today and continues in the weeks ahead.

Today's events include a special VIP ribbon cutting and sign unveiling with members of the United States Speed Skating Association. A community open house with guided tours also is scheduled in the afternoon, so guests may see first-hand the hotel's many changes and additions.

A high-rise, 18-story structure, the Hilton Salt Lake City Center is located in the heart of the city's downtown area. Standard guest room accommodations are oversized and feature a sitting area with an easy chair; a hairdryer; complimentary in-room coffee; a minibar; and an iron and ironing board. In-room entertainment and information services, including on-demand movies, cable television and interactive Hilton guest services also are provided.

Business-oriented features of the guest rooms include an executive work desk; two telephones equipped with two lines, speakerphone, data ports, and voice mail. A full-service business center also is available from 7:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m. daily.

The hotel also features an executive floor with upgraded amenities, a personal concierge, complimentary continental breakfast and an evening manager's reception.

To please the palate, the Hilton Salt Lake City Center is home to two restaurants. The new Canyon Ridge Cafe offers guests a casual, western dining experience with a local, Wasatch front flair; and Spencer's for Steaks and Chops, a private club for members, has been voted ``best steakhouse in Salt Lake City'' for the past two years by Salt Lake Magazine.

Recreational facilities consist of a fitness room; an outdoor, heated swimming pool and a whirlpool. Hiking, tennis, golf and some of the best skiing facilities in the world are located nearby.

The hotel features 19 meeting rooms with approximately 24,000 square feet of flexible meeting space and a capacity for up to 1,080.
