John T.A. Vanderslice Named President and Chief Executive Officer of Club Med North America

MIAMI, FL -- John Vanderslice has been named President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Club Med, North America, according to Yves Martin, Executive Vice President of Club Mediterranee, S.A. Vanderslice assumes responsibility for the North American business unit, which includes all sales, marketing, finance, operations and human resources for the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Vanderslice will join the company on July 10, 2000.

``The continued development of the North American market, specifically the U.S., our second largest market in the world, is a key factor in Club Med's overall strategic plan. Vanderslice's leadership skills and brand expertise will play a major role in Club Med's growth strategy for the U.S., Canada and Mexico. He will spearhead the aggressive North American branding and development plans launched in October 1999,'' said Yves Martin.

Vanderslice, recognized for his expertise in brand management and repositioning, joins Club Med from the Triarc Restaurant Group, whose subsidiaries include Royal Crown®, Snapple®, Mistic Beverages®, Arby's®, T.J. Cinnamons® and Pasta Connection®. John's current responsibilities include concept development for Arby's®, T.J. Cinnamons®, and Pasta Connection® brands.

Prior to joining Triarc, Vanderslice spent nine years in senior brand management and category management positions for several brands at Kraft General Foods, including Post® Cereal, Kool-Aid®, Country Time® and Crystal Light®. At Kraft he was instrumental in the strategic development and execution of unique and aggressive sales, marketing and branding initiatives.

With 17 years of innovative brand development experience in the consumer products industry, Vanderslice brings extensive senior management expertise to his new post.

Club Mediterranee originally introduced the concept of all-inclusive vacations, and is today the world leader, with 150 leisure operations (115 of which are Club Med villages), hosting approximately 2 million guests annually.
