Company Press Release: Sandals Resort
July 5, 2000
LONDON -- The parents of a missing American journalist were notified today that Sandals Resorts intends to double the current one million-dollar reward (Jamaican) to two million dollars (Jamaican). Sandals Resorts Chairman Gordon ``Butch'' Stewart expressed the hope that supplementing the existing reward will trigger more information on the mysterious disappearance of writer Claudia Kirschhoch.

``The first reward announcements triggered almost 400 calls. We hope the larger reward will generate more calls and perhaps loosen a tongue or two,'' said Stewart.

The company continues to work with Jamaican authorities, other law enforcement agencies, and the parents of the missing woman, assisting their efforts financially, logistically, technically and emotionally. ``All of us are looking at this tragic situation as though the missing woman is a member of our own family,'' said Stewart.

Mr. Stewart continued, ``We are totally focused on being helpful and supportive to the family, the authorities, and our own employees who want very much that there be a positive outcome.''

Two million dollars Jamaican is about $50,000 U.S.
