Gary Loveman Elected to Harrah's Entertainment Board

LAS VEGAS, NV -- Harrah's Entertainment, Inc. (NYSE: HET) announced yesterday that Gary Loveman, the Company's Chief Operating Officer and a member of the three-executive Office of the President, has been elected to the Harrah's Entertainment Board of Directors.

``Gary is a welcome addition to the Harrah's Entertainment board,'' said Phil Satre, the Company's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. ``His insight and experience will be extremely valuable to the board as we continue to shape the strategies that have made Harrah's Entertainment the leading consumer-marketing company in the gaming industry.''

As Chief Operating Officer, Loveman is responsible for all revenue-generating operations of Harrah's Entertainment. The company's five division presidents, senior vice presidents of brand operations and information technology and vice presidents of consumer research, brand management and relationship marketing report to him.

Loveman, who was awarded a Ph.D. in economics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, taught Service Management in MBA and executive programs at the Harvard University Graduate School of Business Administration before joining Harrah's Entertainment in May 1998. He also serves as a director of Las Vegas-based National Airlines and ZOHO.com, a Palo Alto, Calif., business-to-business Internet company.
