HONOLULU, HI – The 782-room Ilikai Hotel in Honolulu was reflagged to Marriott International’s (MAR/NYSE) quality
tier Renaissance Hotels, Resorts & Suites brand yesterday under a franchise agreement with Forward One, LLC,
a California company that, through a number of related companies, controls a number of hotels in the United States.
The property will be managed by Interstate Hotels and will be called the Renaissance Ilikai Waikiki. An extensive
refurbishment of all guestrooms and public areas is scheduled to begin shortly.
The hotel is comprised of twin towers connected by an open-air lobby and is located on the southeast corner of
Ala Moana Boulevard and Hobron Lane on the western end of Waikiki. Nearby is the Ala Moana Center retail shopping
complex and the Hawaii Convention Center. Approximately 80 percent of the hotel’s rooms offer ocean views.
“The Renaissance Ilikai Waikiki represents an excellent opportunity for us to expand our presence in Hawaii,” said
Ed Fuller, president and managing director of international lodging at Marriott International. “We have long wanted
to be represented in Waikiki, and this property fits our strategy for our Renaissance brand perfectly. It will
be a significant complement to our other four hotels in the state.”
For dining and recreation, the Renaissance Ilikai Waikiki has five restaurants and lounges. Other amenities include
two outdoor swimming pools, a business center, two tennis courts, a fitness center, a wedding chapel, 60,000 square
feet of retail shopping space and parking for 1,137 automobiles.
For conferences and social events, the Renaissance Ilikai Waikiki has 21,000 square feet of function space, including
a 15,000-square-foot ballroom and several meeting rooms totaling 5,500 square feet of space, 2,560 square feet
of hospitality suites and a 320-square-foot boardroom.
