Fortune Names Marriott as 'Most Admired Company' in the Lodging Industry

WASHINGTON, DC -- Marriott International (NYSE: MAR) has been named 1999's ``Most Admired Company'' in the lodging industry by Fortune magazine.

Last year, Fortune also recognized Marriott International as one of the ``100 Best Companies to Work For,'' and named the company as one of the ``50 Best Companies for Asians, Blacks and Hispanics.''

Arne Sorenson, Marriott International's chief financial officer, said, ``We are very pleased to be named to Fortune's list.
