BEVERLY HILLS, CA -- Hilton Hotels Corp. has announced the opening of the 207-room Hilton San Diego Airport/Harbor
Island in San Diego, representing another addition to the company's growing roster of first-class franchise hotels.
The newly renovated Hilton San Diego Airport/Harbor Island is managed by Westmont Hospitality Inc. and operated
under a license agreement with Hilton Inns Inc., the franchise subsidiary of Beverly Hills-based Hilton Hotels
Corp.
``Hotel accommodations in the San Diego area are always in high demand for both business and leisure travelers,''
said Tom Keltner, president, franchise hotel group for Hilton Hotels. ``The addition of a full-service Hilton airport
property in San Diego complements our company's portfolio of more than 10 hotels in this burgeoning metropolitan
area.''
A high-rise, nine-story structure, the Hilton San Diego Airport/Harbor Island features six suites with private,
furnished balconies; a full-service restaurant; a comfortable lounge area; seven meeting rooms with approximately
9,000 square feet of flexible meeting space; a 24-hour, complimentary business center; and complimentary airport
shuttle service. Guest room accommodations and features include a sitting area with an easy chair, a hairdryer,
a coffee maker, an iron and an ironing board. In-room entertainment and information services, including on-demand
movies, satellite cable television, video games and interactive Hilton guest services, are provided by On Command
Corporation.
Business-oriented features of the guest rooms include a work desk and two telephones equipped with two lines, data
ports and voice mail.
Recreational facilities consist of a fitness room, an outdoor, heated swimming pool and a whirlpool. Sailboat,
bicycle rentals, beaches and golf are located nearby.
