HULL, Quebec -- Four Points by Sheraton is pleased to announce the opening of its newest hotel in Hull, Quebec.
The 201-room, Four Points by Sheraton Hull/ Ottawa is superbly located downtown in the government and business
districts of Hull; across the street from the Canadian Museum of Civilization, five minutes from the Casino de
Hull and minutes from the Byward Market and the Parliament Buildings in downtown Ottawa.
``In Canada we've seen tremendous growth of the Four Points by Sheraton brand, and the location of this hotel gives
travelers access to the best of the nation's capital region and the vibrant city of Hull,'' remarked Peter Rogovin,
Vice President of Marketing for Four Points by Sheraton.
The Four Points by Sheraton Hull/Ottawa, at 35 rue Laurier, offers 9,000 square feet of meeting space and nine
meeting rooms, which can accommodate between ten and 150 people. The hotel has a full service on-site business
centre, an on-site restaurant and lounge, an indoor swimming pool, whirlpool, fitness center and provides indoor/outdoor
parking. The hotel is connected via enclosed walkway to the Maison du Citoyen Conference Centre and the Palais
des Congres de Hull. For reservations, please contact (800) 567-9607 or www.fourpoints.com.
Overlooking Parliament Hill, the new Four Points by Sheraton Hull/Ottawa, sits on land previously occupied by Hull's
historic Notre Dame Catholic Church, which was destroyed by fire in 1971. The hotel is honoring its historic location
by renovating the Church Rectory, left standing after the fire. The renovation of the former Rectory, built in
1888, is scheduled to be completed in May 2001. Located adjacent to the hotel, the Rectory is an ideal venue for
meetings and social functions.
``We are keenly aware of the historical significance our property has for the city and people of Hull,'' said Otto
Heberlein, General Manager of the hotel. ``By renovating the Rectory along with the hotel, we are preserving a
piece of heritage that we know will be enjoyed by future generations.''
KSE Enterprises, the owners of the Four Points by Sheraton Hull/Ottawa, have spent close to $2 million to renovate
the 15-year-old former Ramada Plaza. Renovations include a new lobby, front entrance, the new Cafe Laurier restaurant
and lounge, and a major upgrade to the pool and fitness area. Further renovations to the guestrooms and meeting
space are planned for 2001.
KSE Enterprises Ltd. is represented in North America by the Keck Seng Group. They own several hotels around the
world including the International Plaza Hotel in Toronto and the Sheraton Ottawa Hotel.
Four Points by Sheraton was introduced in 1995, and each hotel offers guests the chance to experience the excellence
